When I first joined Coastal back in 2014, I’ve gained new work knowledge and experience in the field of Finance. Prior to Coastal, my work experience was mainly in Accounts and Tax. O & G sector was also new to me. During the years that I’ve been with Coastal, I had the opportunity to extend my work knowledge and skills especially in studying new projects, cash flow modelling, due diligence work and also exposed to the Bursa Malaysia’s Listing Requirements for a listed corporations.
I have been learning and gaining more new experiences and exposures while working on Coastal’s overseas projects. Staying in a small town like Sandakan, Sabah but with Coastal, it’s more like working in an overseas company while still based locally in Malaysia.
The working environment in Coastal enabled me to have a balanced work life, especially with the 5 days a week job. Most local companies in Sandakan, Sabah are having a 5.5 days working hours with half day on Saturdays. This has enabled me to spend more time with family and social activities during the weekends.
While with Coastal, I also had the opportunity to travel locally / overseas for business meetings. During these business trips, I had the chance to get to know and interact with people from various countries. In short, working in Coastal is like working with a local company but with foreign business exposures. In Coastal, colleagues locally and overseas are friendly and cooperative with each other. Working in Coastal is challenging, but also rewarding.
