Project Manager (Solar System)

Summary

Experience: 10-15 Years
Location:  Sandakan, Sabah Malaysia, regular overseas travel where required
Education: Technical graduate degree, Renewable/Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
Computer software: MS Office, MS Project, PVsyst. Other Electrical software knowledge such as Etap will be added advantage.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Board of Directors, or designated superior.
  • Manage a team of construction personnels (workers/engineers/inspectors/HSE and others) in the construction and development of a solar photovoltaic energy generating plant.
  • Coordinate and review related engineering drawings and documentations prepared by 3rd parties or suppliers.
  • Provide regular reporting at frequency assigned by the management.
  • Conduct regular meetings with associated parties such as project team, engineering companies, EPCC contractors or Suppliers to ensure good progress of construction or project.
  • Participate in relevant tests and trials as required.
  • Maintain good communication and updates with the Management and the client (where applicable).
  • Assist to prepare tender documents for bid submission, if any
  • Manage and oversee day-to-day operation of solar photovoltaic energy project.
  • Allocate and guide project / solar engineers to monitor performance metrics.
  • Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies and risk analysis for proposed solar projects.
  • Ensure compliance to Company policies such as ISO, HSE, ESG practices.
  • Carry out any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Company from time to time.

Requirements/Knowledge/Competencies

  • 10-15 years of experience in managing solar photovoltaic energy projects;
  • Graduate degree in Renewable/Electrical/Electronic Engineering;
  • Proficiency in using MS Office and project planning software such as MS Project, Primavera;
  • Knowledge of solar photovoltaic software such as PVsyst;
  • Knowledge of Electrical software such as Etap will be an added advantage;
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Commissioning and field experience preferably have worked at a similar capacity and field;
  • Excellent leadership skills to lead the team and the project;
  • Ability to coach, counsel and mentor fellow colleagues;
  • Ability to communicate English/Malay. Other languages will be an added advantage.
  • Regular overseas business travel may be necessary.
